Michele Rizzitelli ist am 18.10.2020 beim Pescara Marathon seinen 1000. Marathon gelaufen und erreicht damit einen Monat nach seiner Frau Angela die 1000 Marke.

Michele Rizzitelli run his 1000. Marathon on October 18th, 2020 at the Pescara Marathon and reached is 1000th marathon one month after his wife Angela.

 

Here are some background information about Michele's running past.

Rizzitelli Michele, born in Barletta (Italy) 18/06/1946. He started running by chance at the age of 30.
In 1976 the staff of the Divisions of the Civil Hospital of Barletta challenged each other in a football tournament.
Michele not having played sports since high school and not having time to train with other colleagues, began to do solitary runs to tone his legs and make his lungs open.

After the soccer tournament with his Department of Orthopedics in penultimate place, he realized that running was the only sport that his professional commitments allowed him.
His first marathon dates back to 1986 in New York at the age of 40.
The second on October 30, 1994 in Acquaviva delle Fonti and a week later, on November 6, again in New York together with his wife, Angela Gargano, with whom he will run all the other marathons.
In 1996 he ran the 100 km of the Passatore, from Florence to Faenza.
In 1998 he ran 29 marathons in one year and the 120 km Desert Marathon in the Libyan desert.
In 1999 he took part in the 225 km Marathon des Sables in the Moroccan desert.
On Saturday afternoon he runs the Mugello Marathon and the Genoa Marathon on the following Sunday morning.
In 2001 he set his best time at the Lauria Marathon (PZ) with 3:30:00 at the age of 55.
In the calendar year 2002 he completed 100 marathons, running 10 in 10 consecutive days in the Netherlands.
He joins the 100 Marathon Club Deutschland having already run 200 marathons.
In 2004 he ran the Pisa Marathon in the morning and the Rimini Marathon in the late afternoon.
In 2008 he ran the Himalayan 100 miles and the 53 km of Tre Cime di Lavaredo Ultratrail. He wins the 24 Hours of Termini Imerese with 187,200 km, making his personal and the event record. In Turin he runs a series of 12 consecutive marathons, crossing the finish line twice first.  This year seven times he crosses the 100 km marathon finish line, achieving his best personal performance in 10 hours and 30 minutes.
In 2009 he completed the 335 km Baltic Run, from Berlin to the island of Usedom in the Baltic Sea.
In 2011 he ran his 500th marathon at The San Valentino Marathon in Terni.
From 5 to 11 June 2016, during the Italian Ultramarathon Festival of Policoro (MT), he concludes 12 marathons in 6 days, running one in the morning and another in the afternoon, in order to celebrate the 50 km of the Stranamarathon of Putignano, on 18/06/2016, the day of his 70th birthday and his 700th race.
In 2018 he ran 124 races for a total of 53,450 km.
He wins the final ranking of the 12 Marathons in 12 Dys of Rieti.
In Turin he runs 23 consecutive marathons, winning two.
In 2019 in Tokyo he obtained the prestigious Abbott World Marathon medal for having completed the 6 largest marathons in the world.
He runs the Great Wall Marathon and the Melbourne Marathon.
He has raced on all five continents for a total of 53,000 km.
On 18 October, at the Pescara Marathon, he ran his 1000th marathon.
